Program Overview
Established on October 25th, 2019 (his 80th birthday) and in honor of his 33 years of making a difference in the classroom, this scholarship is open to graduating seniors from Caprock High School who are pursuing a degree in Education, Architecture, or Engineering. Jess Roan was an Industrial Arts teacher at Caprock High School from 1963 to 1996. He was the kind of teacher who loved what he did every day and loved every kid who walked into his classroom. He taught them drafting and woodworking, but more importantly, he taught them about what it means to be a person of integrity and to always be the best at whatever they do. This is the type of student we hope to award this scholarship to.
